Northern Shipping Company to Deliver Shaft for Hyundai in Early September 2010

The vessel "Captain Lus'" owned by Northern Shipping Company is to deliver an oversized cargo to Rotterdam port (Holland) in early September 2010. The oversized cargo weighing over 173 tons is a shaft, which was delivered to Saint-Petersburg port from Kharkov by rail. The work at this project has been carried out by the specialists of Northern Shipping Company, First Stevedoring Company and Universal Forwarder for about two months. Global Expedition Service Ltd. coordinated the work between the partners.

The whole supply chain worked well. The shaft was loaded on the motorship "Captain Lus'" by the floating crane "Bogatyr", which can handle the cargo weighing 300 tons. Universal beams were mounted in the hold of the motorship to uniform load of heavy equipment. The cargo will be transshipped on a barge in Rotterdam and shipped to Antwerp where the equipment will be transshipped on an ocean-going ship which will deliver the cargo to Korea for Hyundai Steel Company.
